I have really enjoyed talking and analyzing these princesses. There are so many different ones with many unique and sometimes transparent personalities, but lets not get into that. Lets talk about a different type of princess. A princess that doesn't live on land but "Under the Sea".
Ariel (: (the little mermaid)
Little Ariel is one of the innocent yet strong minded girls of the princess collection. She stays true to herself and her quirky personality and is passionate in her interests. Although her interests weren't to the best sides of her father, King Trition, she still enjoyed them. Her dreams and desires were to go up on land and explore the "humans". Curiosity was one of her main traits as she loved to be able to explore the items that once belonged to humans and keep them as souvenirs.
All her life she was just used to living in water with fins while above the water contained people with legs. I mean as humans wouldn't you want to see what its like to be a mermaid? (minus the sharks)
But regardless she was not afraid to be herself and has such a loving and innocent heart. From that she was able to find love at her first sight, Prince Eric, who was a human. That soon became her next motivation of wanting to go on land.
I feel that as a young teenager, she wanted nothing more than to be with the man she fell for. Although it meant that she had to have her voice be taken away, I think her feelings for him were so strong that she would do ANYTHING! (Teenagers my goodness haha)
She would do anything just so she could be with Eric, even if it meant losing her voice. |
I honestly don't blame her curious and teenage nature of love. I would have wanted to do the same if I was given the opportunity to meet with my love/crush. Look what ended up happening, he fell for her too and they got married (teenage marriage ooh lalalala) but she was able to gain her wish of wanting to see what humans were like and also be with the man she loves.
Love works in many ways for people and by the end of the day both partners want to be together and in some way Ariel and Eric were able to do it and be able to have their happy ending (:
I know this analyzation of Ariel was pretty short but I hope you guys like it and I will see you guys next week for another disney personality (:
Peace out!
Nikki (:
I'm so glad you talked about Ariel this week! She is my ALL TIME FAVORITE princess in the Disney collection because what girl didn't want to be a mermaid?! I loved her passion for all things and how she was determined to find her own happiness no matter who got in her way. She pushed through and in the end fulfilled her dreams and found her happiness in her own way, on her own time, sort of. Now that you've mentioned her, she's kind of speaking to me! I'm looking for my happiness and you've inspired me!
